Competitions, clinics, concerts and more, the 51st annual Eau Claire Jazz Festival is sure to take the city by storm from April 21 – 22! The festival kicks off on Friday, April 21 with student competitions happening across the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus. Guest artist headliner concerts, the 52nd Street celebration and many other performances and festivities will be following the competition to ensure a jazz-filled weekend for all festivalgoers. Guest artists Doc Severinsen and Carl Allen will be playing alongside the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Jazz Ensemble I at the State Theatre during both nights of the festival.

Steve Zenz has been involved in the music business as professional musician andteacher for more than fifty years. During that time he has played withinnumerable musical organizations and personalities representing almost everystyle of music. His professional credits include performances with such diversepersonalities as Bob Hope, Myron Floren, Tiny Tim, Clark Terry, Milt Hinton andPete Barbutti. As a teacher he is experienced at virtually all levels ofeducation; primary grades through graduate school and has had numerousappointments to Who’s Who Among American Teachers. Steve has a reputation of being a consummate professional in all that hedoes. His friends, students and colleagues know him as "Zomar" acharacter of humor and zaniness. Steve's reputation as a performer-clinician is that of a seasoned professional who loves people. He is currently a self-employed freelance musician throughout the Midwest, a drum set and rhythm section coach at UW-Eau Claire, a long time faculty member at the Shell LakeArts Center in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, the co-founder of the Cordoba Jazz Camp in Jesus Maria, Cordoba, Argentina and world traveler living in Milwaukee,Wisconsin with his wife Siri. He is the father of four daughters and co sponsor of an Argentine music student.
